After taking a required P.E. course at NC State University over 30 years ago, Sheila discovered a lifelong passion for fitness, nutrition and health.
Soon after college, she had the opportunity to manage a women’s fitness club and became a certified group fitness instructor through Athletics and Fitness Association of America. She enjoys continuing her education and teaching a wide variety of classes, including water aerobics, cycle classes and Silver Sneakers.
In 2010, she miraculously heard and followed a quiet, internal nudge and ventured into her first yoga class. After living life for 40 years in high gear, she immediately realized this was exactly where she needed to be.
Since then, she has completed the 500RYT yoga teacher training with Lisa Moore at Harmony Yoga and all three levels of Reiki Master training.
She has experienced profound physical, emotional and spiritual healing through her practice and her greatest joy is to help others do the same.
She teaches a variety of classes, but they are all based on the yoga principles of svadhyaya and ahimsa: self-discovery and compassion. She encourages her students to honor their bodies, challenge themselves, and most of all… HAVE FUN!
